The 2006 Wildland Fire Season

2006 transpired into a very busy wildland fire season. Fire suppression resources were heavily used, and international support was requested. Most geographic areas experienced above normal fire seasons.

The 2006 wildland fire season set new records in both the number of reported fires as well as acres burned at 125 percent above the 10-year average.
