LINCOLN, Neb., May 23, 2019 – The Arbor Day Foundation is collaborating with Brambles|CHEP, Procter & Gamble and Sustainable Brands to help ReLeaf Michigan plant 35 trees in Detroit's Muliett Park on June 3. The trees will be planted by volunteers attending the 2019 Sustainable Brands Conference being held in Detroit June 3–6, 2019. The new trees will help the city meet its goal of having a park within a ten-minute walk for all residents. Attendees can volunteer by registering here.

"This is our third year of working with the Arbor Day Foundation to incorporate a tree planting event into the Sustainable Brands experience," said Marie Perriard, senior director of global brand at Sustainable Brands. "Our attendees enjoy the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the city that hosts our conference."

"This is an event we look forward to each year," said Dan Lambe, president of the Arbor Day Foundation. "Tree planting is the core of what we do, and it's exciting to see volunteers from across the country come together to help green Detroit with ReLeaf Michigan."

Beyond immediate beautification of the Corktown Neighborhood park, these large shade trees will grow to provide much-needed shade for existing park amenities and will help reduce vehicular air pollution from Interstate 75.

"We are honored to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation and Procter & Gamble at Sustainable Brands to give back to the local community," said Laura Nador, president, CHEP North America. "All of us at Brambles|CHEP look forward to the tree planting, joining fellow organizations who prioritize sustainability as much as we do."
