Our Approach

Science shows us where trees are needed most. Then, with shovels or support, our global network plants the right trees in the right places.

Planting with focus

We plant with intention and integrity. While trees everywhere are good, we use GIS mapping, environmental, socio-economic, and location data paired with local guidance to identify areas of greatest need. It’s how we plant for planet-shaping impact.

Prioritizing impact

While we plant in forests around the world, we have identified key priority regions where trees can have the greatest impact on climate, Indigenous and community lands, and the health of biodiversity. We pinpoint these regions through a combination of GIS mapping, environmental and social data, and science to help prioritize our work. Then, we work with planting partners on the ground to get to work.

When everyone plants, everyone wins

Trees are vital infrastructure to grow cities and towns for a changing world. To understand where they’re needed most, we lean on NatureQuant’s block-by-block mapping, public data, and image-recognition software to guide our focus. We work with an eye toward where trees can make neighborhoods more equitable and climate resilient, and lean on our local partners’ knowledge to plant in a way that best serves their communities.
