Pumpkin Patches Open at Arbor Day Farm, Kimmel Orchard

Pick-your-own pumpkins add to the Autumn Festival

Nebraska City, Neb. (Oct. 1) – Families and people of all ages can select fresh, homegrown pumpkins right off the vine at Arbor Day Farm and Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard in Nebraska City.

The pick-your-own pumpkin patches are now open for business at both locations.

“Our pumpkin patches are bursting with pumpkins, and this is the perfect time to select your own right out of the field,” said Erik Olson, manager of Arbor Day Farm and Kimmel Orchard. “Picking the perfect pumpkin is a fall tradition the entire family will enjoy. A lot of the fun comes from seeing children choose the biggest one only to discover that it’s too big to carry to the car.”

Visiting the pumpkin patch is an added attraction to the Autumn Festival at Arbor Day Farm. In addition to the pumpkin patch, Arbor Day Farm features the Tree Adventure attraction, where visitors can explore the corn maze, enjoy hayrack rides, climb a tree house 50 feet high, watch “Trees in the Movies” on a big screen, and take home a free seedling tree with each paid admission.

Arbor Day Farm is located at 2611 Arbor Ave., in Nebraska City.

Visitors to Kimmel Orchard can enjoy a hayrack ride to the pumpkin patch, fresh pressed apple cider, homemade apple pie, homegrown produce and scenic trails. The orchard is located at 5995 G Road, in Nebraska City.
