Arbor Day Foundation Announces Partnership with Ayumma to Plant Trees in America's Forests
Springs Window Fashions Partners with the Arbor Day Foundation To Plant Up to 100,000 Trees in U.S. Forests
Nebraska City, Neb. (April 23, 2010) – The Arbor Day Foundation today announced a partnership with Springs Window Fashions to plant 100,000 trees in 2010. All of the trees planted by Springs Window Fashions will go in forests that have been devastated by wildfire, insects or disease.
Springs Window Fashions' commitment to plant 100,000 trees with the Arbor Day Foundation expands its Bali® Green by Nature™ program.
"We're excited about this partnership," said Shelley Sorensen, corporate partnerships manager at the Arbor Day Foundation. "We think it's a great way to encourage environmentally friendly décor choices."
The Arbor Day Foundation is the nation's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to planting trees. Last year, the Foundation planted and distributed more than 15 million trees.
"We've been a green company for over a decade, and this new partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation takes our Green philosophy to the next level," said Lisa Vandermause, retail channel marketing manager at Springs Window Fashions. "The partnership focuses on two of our environmentally responsible products, Wood Blinds and Natural Shades. Our Bali Wood Blinds are harvested from managed forest land using sustainable logging techniques, and our Grayling, Michigan, manufacturing facility has adopted 'waste to energy' processing to make sure all of the wood is used responsibly. Our new Bali Natural Shades are crafted from fast-growing renewable resources like bamboo, jute and grasses. Their roots are left intact for fast growth in one to three years and to prevent soil erosion."
