February 5, 2013 Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel's Iris Family Center for Early Childhood Education Receives National Certification as Nature Explore Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel's Iris Family Center for Early Childhood Education, located at 432 Scotland Road, South Orange, NJ, has earned national certification as a Nature Explore Classroom from Dimensions Educational Research Foundation and the Arbor Day Foundation. TSTI is one of only four certified outdoor classrooms in New Jersey, one of which is McGuire Air Force Base. December 14, 2012 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Arbor Day Foundation Build Environmental Leaders with Support From Toyota Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, launched an aggressive campaign to recruit and train environmental leaders at colleges and universities across the country through a new partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and the sponsorship of Toyota. Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded in 1908 in Washington, DC, and is the oldest Greek-lettered organization established by African-American, college-educated women. December 14, 2012 Arbor Day Foundation Awards Three Volunteer Center Contest Winners with Combined Service of 150 Hours Lafayette, Indiana, resident Gregory Shaner was the first place grand prize winner for the Arbor Day Foundation's recent Volunteer Center contest, with a total of 86 hours of conservation-oriented volunteering. David Ruyak of Reading, Pennsylvania, was the second place winner with 48 volunteer hours, and Charline Bridgeman of Evansville, Indiana, was third place with 19 volunteer hours.
