The Arbor Day Foundation today recognized sixteen hospitals across the United States as the first-ever Tree Campus Healthcare facilities. The healthcare institutions earned this recognition by demonstrating a commitment to improving community wellness through tree planting, education, and community engagement.

The Arbor Day Foundation along with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) today announced the first cities to be recognized through the Tree Cities of the World program. Calendar year 2019 was the first year of eligibility in this worldwide initiative to recognize cities for their commitment to urban forestry management.

The Arbor Day Foundation is launching domestic and international planting projects to fulfill its commitment to plant more than 21.5 million trees funded by #TeamTrees, a viral crowdfunding campaign driven by YouTubers MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) and Mark Rober in late 2019. As early as January 2020, trees will be planted in high-need public and private forests recovering from fire, storms, deforestation, and other threats.

The Arbor Day Foundation has announced that as of December 19 2019, at 3:28 p.m. CT, #TeamTrees -- a viral social media campaign driven by YouTube creators Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast) and Mark Rober -- reached its goal of raising $20 million to plant 20 million trees around the globe, beating the initial goal of January 1, 2020. Launched on October 25, the campaign is the largest crowdfunding effort in YouTube's history and one of the fastest-growing environmental fundraising initiatives to-date.
