1. Commit to an eco-friendly habit
2. We’ll plant a tree
We each have a role to play in making a livable future. Our strength is planting trees where they're needed most. So when you do something good for the planet, so will we.
The Planet Pledge
Tell us how you'll make the world better starting today. Pledge to make it a habit and we'll plant a free tree in a recovering forest for you. It’s as simple as that to further your impact.
Strategies to make your habit stick
Committing to an action is just the beginning. Here are some researched-backed techniques to help make your habit second nature.
Start small and stay consistent
Make your habit as easy as possible, then do it every day. Big changes can take time to become automatic, so start with something easy to do, even when motivation is low.
Example: put the compost bin next to the garbage to make it easy to sort food scraps from trash after every meal.
Stack habits
Pick a routine you already have and use it to remind you it’s time to do your new habit. This can be more helpful than relying on memory alone.
Example: use an existing routine like walking in the door after work to remind you it’s time to water your garden.
Make it easy
Prepare in advance to remove things that might get in the way. Even a little friction can make sticking with a habit more difficult, so a little prep can go a long way.
Example: set out workout clothes and a helmet at night to make biking to work in the morning easier.
Bring a buddy
Stay accountable by telling friends or coworkers about your goal or, better yet, have them commit to a habit with you. When you tie a habit to the good feelings you get from spending time with friends, they’re more likely to stick.
Example: schedule a carpool with your coworker or bring a friend to volunteer at a community garden.

Something bigger than all of us takes all of us
Your habits can make your corner of the world a better place, but it takes all of us to change the future. When you pledge, you’re joining a network of change-makers and organizations doing their part. The corporate partners supporting large-scale reforestation. Our local planting partners working to give all our neighbors access to greenspace. The individual gardeners growing an oasis at home. We all share the same future. And with shovels, support, community-building, or individual actions, it takes all of us to make it a healthy one.
Show us your pledge in action
Share a photo or video of how you’re making your corner of the world a better place to inspire others to do the same.
Keep the good growing
Support planting projects in communities and forests to expand the positive impact you’re having on the world.
