ArborLinks Home Course Will Bring Championship Golf, Enhanced Environmental Stewardship to Nebraska City
Nebraska City, Neb. – John Deere has donated the use of several pieces of equipment to The National Arbor Day Foundation for use at Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, Neb. The equipment includes two utility tractors, two commercial mowers, and a multi-purpose utility vehicle known as the John Deere Gator.
“We’re grateful to John Deere for providing this equipment for the 2000 growing season,” said Chris Aden, general manager of Arbor Day Farm. “We look forward to continuing and expanding the relationship with John Deere.”
Aden thanked the John Deere officials who helped make the arrangement possible, including several representatives of John Deere’s Worldwide Agricultural Equipment Division: Scott Jensen, Division Marketing; Keith Soltwedel, manager of Commercial and Consumer Equipment and Government Sales; Les Hoyt, Marketing Promotion Advisor; and Dean Hayes, Territory Manager. Jim Hauptman, manager of Cass County Implement, coordinated the delivery and local product support of the equipment to Arbor Day Farm through the dealership in Plattsmouth, Neb.
Arbor Day Farm, a National Historic Landmark, is part of the original estate of Arbor Day founder J. Sterling Morton. It is home to Lied Conference Center, apple orchards, nut and other specialized plantations, and many conservation demonstration sites. Arbor Day Farm is owned and operated by The National Arbor Day Foundation, a nonprofit education organization dedicated to tree planting and environmental stewardship.
