Climate Week NYC

Kick off Climate Week by experiencing nature and trees in a hands-on environment. Join Verizon and the Arbor Day Foundation to plant the next generation of trees in St Vartan Park to ensure that New Yorkers can continue to seek refuge from the hot sun and play underneath a leafy canopy.

Trees planted on edge of the park will increase the amount of shade on the entrance ramp to the Queens Midtown Tunnel as well as the play surfaces, thereby cooling the air. As these trees grow they will protect the comfortable green and shaded community space Murray Hill residents depend on.

Come ready to plant trees alongside others who are passionate about the environment and the power trees have to transform communities and livelihoods.
