Working with those doing the good work
From community volunteer groups to established international organizations, we are always expanding our planting network. Through decades of planting, learning, and adapting, we’ve developed key principles that guide us in growing a network of planting partners who share a bold belief that a better future is plantable.
Mission alignment
We work with organizations who share our values, always asking questions to ensure their work supports our mission, vision, and core values. When these organizations join programs like Tree City USA and the Alliance for Community Trees, they establish a commitment to best practices in urban forestry that inspires confidence.
Right trees, right reasons
We partner with those who plant the right trees in the right places at the right time, in ways that serve the needs of their communities and forests. This includes proven conservation, management, and maintenance plans.
Community engagement
We support partners who promote equity and collaborate directly with the people they serve. Local communities should be included, empowered, and engaged in planting projects to grow their success in the long run.
Science-based frameworks
Forests need protection, intentional management, and thoughtful restoration. Communities thrive when trees are planted to address things like heat island effects, access to green space, and quality of life. We look for partners who align their work with best practices to have the greatest impact.
Ways to get involved
Taking care of trees and people
Trees in communities are vital for a healthy and happy population. We partner with municipal partners through our Tree City programs to recognize those committed to best practices in urban forestry while supporting them with a framework for success.
Committing to urban forestry across campuses
Schools, universities and colleges, and healthcare campuses provide major green footprints in their communities. We connect campuses with tools, recognition, and support to be leaders in inspiring future tree planters and growing healthier neighborhoods.
Reforestation organizations
We work with organizations around the world who are thoughtfully doing reforestation work, with a special focus on how projects impact climate, community, and biodiversity.
Community organizations
No matter the size of the organization, we support our community planters in putting the right trees in the right places through resources, networking, tree planting and distribution support, education, and more.
